Give a Helping Hand

Leaves of Learning Leaves of Learning

Every year, Leaves of Learning students graduate and go out into the world as poised, inquisitive, caring young adults.

LOL Helping Hands

93% go on to college—all go on to share what they’ve learned with their communities and the world beyond. We’re proud of our students and their accomplishments and growth. At LOL, our main goal is to prepare students for the future by modeling respect and encouraging students’ personal as well as academic growth. We can accomplish this because our program—small class sizes, highly experienced teachers, and a caring, nurturing staff—is designed to do just that.

Of course, a program like this doesn’t come cheaply. As a non-profit 501 C(3), we do not get government—or any—funding.

Each year there are families needing financial assistance to start LOL or to keep their children enrolled. For the past few years, we’ve had a family who graciously donated enough money to help several families cover tuition. Unfortunately, this family is no longer able to donate.

Many families are struggling right now with job losses and other financial problems. Because we want to do everything possible to keep LOL available to these families, we are creating the LOL Helping Hand Scholarship Fund, using money raised from special fundraising activities. Once we raise funds, families will apply for scholarships through an independent agency, called FACTS, which compiles family financial information and makes scholarship recommendations.

Two ways you can help:

1. Participate in our “Helping Hand” events. 100% of the profit from these activities will go directly to the scholarship fund. We ask that you support these events to the fullest of your ability. We have several in the works, including:

• Pizza Lunch: LOL will have pizza, veggies, fruit and drinks for your child to purchase for lunch. The cost is $3 per child for the full meal. Extra pizza slices can be purchased for $1.

• Parents’ Night Out: Parents will be able to take a Saturday night off and leave their kids supervised at LOL where kids can eat a pizza dinner, watch a movie, play with friends, and join in activities.

2. Make a tax-deductible donation. As a 501 c(3), your donation can be tax deductible. You can donate online via the Donate button above, or by writing a check. Please write “Helping Hand” on your check.

Thanks for helping us keep LOL available to all students!

“LOL is a magical place, and I don't think that I have ever called a place magical, including Disney World.”
